Caldwell City Commission 
 Minutes of Meeting – May 2nd, 2018 
 
The Caldwell City Commission met in regular session at the Caldwell Commission Chambers on May 2nd, 2018 at 12:04 p.m.  Mayor P.  Mark Arnold presided. Commissioners Jill Kuehny and Michelle Schiltz were present. Kristin Hutsler, City Clerk; Marc Marcrum, Public Works Supervisor; Pat York, Fire Chief; Gene Garcia, Police Chief, and Velta Glenn were also present.
 
The minutes of the April 18th, 2018 Regularly Meeting were read and approved with a motion from Commissioner Kuehny, and seconded by Commissioner Schiltz. Motion Carried. 
 
Pat York, Fire Chief reported that the tanker truck will likely be the next large purchase need for the Fire Department. Casie Risley will begin to research any grants and loans available to replace the tanker. Pat York, will be retiring at the end of June.  He has served on the fire department for 24 years, 15 of those as the Fire Chief.  The City of Caldwell is so appreciative of his service, and wishes him the best. 
 
Gene Garcia, Police Chief asked the commissioners support of his new program “Coffee with a Cop.” The Chief will provide coffee and pastries at the Red Barn May 19th, at 9:00 am.  He also presented the possibility for another program that is in the works, he will have more information on that at another time.  
 
Marc Marcrum reported that the splash pads plumbing has been installed and checked for leaks.  Concrete work is projected to begin this week. 
 
The April Municipal Court Report was presented and discussed. 
 
A thank you was sent to the City for their donation of $50.00 to Sumner County 911 for the APCO Conference, which they were sponsoring. 
 
The Lease Purchase Documents for Patrol Vehicle 2016 F250 WAS presented.  Commissioner Kuehny made the motion to approve all of the Documents, Mayor Arnold seconded.  Commissioner Schiltz abstained.  Arnold-yes, Kuehny-yes,  Schiltz- abstain. 
 
The agreement for use of the Caldwell Municipal Airport Facilities Lease with Farmers Grain Co was presented and approved with a motion from Commissioner Kuehny, and Seconded by Commissioner Schiltz.  Arnold-yes, Kuehny-yes, Schiltz-yes.
 
An addendum to Listing Agreement for 11 South St. Mary’s with Weigand Realtors was presented. Casie Risley mentioned that there is an interested party for the St. Mary’s home but the agreement must still be renewed.  Commissioner Kuehny Motioned for the approval of the Listing agreement, with a second from Commissioner Schiltz.  Arnold-yes, Kuehny-yes, Schiltz-yes. 
 
The CMB License Application from the Czech Chapter #1 was approved with a motion from Commissioner Schiltz, Seconded by Commissioner Kuehny.  Arnold-yes, Kuehny-yes, Schiltz-yes. 
 
Warrant Ordinance 2146 was approved with a motion from Commissioner Schiltz, Seconded by Commissioner Kuehny.  Arnold-yes, Kuehny-yes, Schiltz-yes. 
The CHS Senior Community Service Work Day is Thursday May 3rd at 9:00 am. 
 
A motion to enter into an Executive Session to Discuss Trade Secrets for 10 minutes at 12:47 p.m.was made by Commissioner Schiltz and Seconded by Commissioner Kuehny. Arnold- yes, Kuehny- yes, Schiltz- yes. Those asked to be present were Marc Marcrum, Kristin Hutsler, and Leah Sommerhoff.  The Executive Session concluded at 12:56 pm and no motions were made. 
 
 
There being no other business, the meeting was adjourned at 12:57 p.m.
