 Minutes of Meeting – July 3rd, 2018
 
The Caldwell City Commission met in regular session at the Caldwell Public Works Building on July 3rd, 2018 at 12:06 p.m.  Mayor P.  Mark Arnold was present. Commissioners present were Michelle Schiltz and Jill Kuehny. Casie Risley, City Administrator was present. Gene Garcia, Marshall and Marc Marcrum, Public Works Foreman were present. Velta Glenn, guest, was also present. 
 
The minutes of the June 20th, 2018 Regular Meeting were read and approved on a motion from Commissioner Kuehny, and seconded by Commissioner Schiltz. Motion Carried. 
 
Gene Garcia, Marshall, was present to inform the Commissioners of Officer Rebekah Rickstrew’s upcoming DARE Training in July. 
 
Marc Marcrum, Public Works Foreman, was present to inform the commission about the results of the leak detection crew at the Pool. It was noted there were several substantial leaks located and major construction will be necessary to remedy the issues. 
 
The July Municipal Court Report was presented and discussed. 
 
A motion from Commissioner Schiltz was heard to pay for the cost of the Community Building Rental for the Progressive Ag Safety Days. Her motion was seconded by Commissioner Kuehny. Arnold – yes, Kuehny – yes, Schiltz – yes. 
 
It was noted that Scott York was sworn in as the new Fire Chief for the Caldwell Volunteer Fire Department on July 2nd, 2018.
 
A Community Building Alcohol Exemption Request for July 6th, 2018 was submitted and approved with a motion from Commissioner Kuehny and a second from Commissioner Schiltz. Arnold – yes, Kuehny – yes, Schiltz – yes. 
 
A list of mandatory equipment requests was submitted by the Fire Department and approved with a motion from Commissioner Schiltz and a second from Commissioner Schiltz. Arnold – yes, Kuehny – yes, Schiltz – yes. 
 
It was noted that Leah Sommerhoff, Deputy City Clerk, will be attending the Sumner County Leadership Program. 
 
The Crop Yield Report from tenant Bruce Belmear was presented and reviewed. 
 
Wage Resolution 6-2018: Bryan Crownover, part time officer, was presented and approved with a motion from Commissioner Schiltz and seconded by Commissioner Kuehny. Arnold – yes, Kuehny – yes, Schiltz – yes. 
 
At 12:21 p.m. Commissioner Kuehny made a motion to enter into Executive Session to discuss trade secrets/financial affairs of a second party for 10 minutes. Her motion was seconded by Commissioner Schiltz. Executive Session concluded at 12:31. No motions were made.  
 
At 12:31 p.m. Commissioner Schiltz made a motion to enter into Executive Session to discuss non-elected personnel for 5 minutes. Her motion was seconded by Commissioner Kuehny. Executive Session concluded at 12:35 p.m. No motions were made.  
 
Appropriation Ordinance 2150 was approved with a motion from Commissioner Schiltz and seconded by Commission Kuehny. Arnold – yes, Kuehny –yes, Schiltz – yes.  
 
There being no other business, the meeting was adjourned at 12:36 p.m.
