Minutes of Meeting – January 4th, 2017

The Caldwell City Commission met in regular session at the Caldwell Public Works Building on January 4th at 12:10 p.m.  Mayor P.  Mark Arnold presided.  Commissioner present was Jill Kuehny. Casie Risley, City Administrator, Police Chief Gene Garcia was present. 

The minutes of the December 21st, 2016 Regular Meeting were read and approved with a motion from Commissioner Kuehny, seconded by Mayor Arnold. Motion Carried.

The City Clerk Petty Cash Report was presented and reviewed. 

It was noted that a donation was received from the Parisi Family for the Historical Monument Refurbishing Project. 

Resolution 1-2017: Wage/Salary Resolution was presented and approved, with the noted changes to the wage ranges for the City Treasurer and Part-Time Police Officers, with a motion from Mayor Arnold, seconded by Commissioner Kuehny. Arnold – yes, Kuehny -yes, Wood – absent. 

Fire Fighting Service Agreements from Bluff and Chikaskia Township were approved with a motion from Commissioner Kuehny and a second from Mayor Arnold. 

A discussion was held regarding the Fire Fighting Service Agreement with Fire District No. 5. It was noted that their contract had been received and under review pending consultation from our attorney. 

Resolution No 2-2017: Wage Resolution – Darrel Schenck was presented and approved with a motion from Commissioner Kuehny and seconded by Mayor Arnold.  Arnold – yes, Kuehny -yes, Wood – absent.

A Proclamation designating 2017 as the 150th Anniversary of the Chisholm Trail was presented and approved with a motion from Commissioner Kuehny and seconded by Mayor Arnold.  Arnold – yes, Kuehny -yes, Wood – absent.

A Proclamation designating January 22-18 of 2017 as School Choice Week was presented and approved with a motion from Commissioner Kuehny and seconded by Mayor Arnold.  Arnold – yes, Kuehny -yes, Wood – absent.

Appropriation Ordinance 2114 was approved with a motion from Commissioner Kuehny and seconded by Mayor Arnold. Arnold – yes, Kuehny – yes, Wood -absent. 

There being no other business, the meeting was adjourned at 1:14 p.m.
