Minutes of Meeting- December 6th, 2017

 

The Caldwell City Commission met in regular session at the Caldwell Public Works Building on December 6th, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. Mayor P. Mark Arnold presided.  Commissioners present were Michelle Schiltz and Jill Kuehny.  Casie Risley, City Administrator was present.  Gene Garcia, Marshall and Marc Marcrum were present.  Guests present were Craig Hamelin from Power Play and Velta Glenn. 

The minutes of the November 15th, 2017 Regular Meeting were read and approved with a motion from Commissioner Kuehny, and seconded by Commissioner Schiltz.  Motion Carried.

Craig Hamelin from Power Play was present to discuss the details of the Splash Pad.  The project was approved contingent to Troy Dierking, City Attorneys approval of the contract with a motion from Commissioner Kuehny and a second from Commissioner Schiltz.  Arnold- yes, Kuehny-yes, Schiltz-yes.

The November Court Report was presented and reviewed. 

Thank - You cards from the Martin Family and the O-K Chisholm Trail Cattle Drovers Association were read.  

A discussion was held concerning the Rural Fire District Contracts for 2018.  It was decided to raise the fees by $10 a section due to the increase in firefighting equipment and costs.  The motion for increase was made by Commissioner Schiltz and seconded by Commissioner Kuehny.  Arnold-yes, Kuehny-yes, Schiltz-yes. 

A motion was made by Commissioner Schiltz and seconded by Commissioner Kuehny to continue to do the same Christmas gift to full and part time employees as in the past years.  Arnold-yes, Kuehny-yes, Schiltz-yes. 

Appropriation Ordinance 2136 was approved with a motion from Commissioner Schiltz and seconded by Commissioner Kuehny.  Arnold-yes, Kuehny-yes, Schiltz-yes. 

At 1:20 p.m. Commissioner Kuehny made a motion to enter into Executive Session to discuss non-elected personnel for 10 minutes.  Those asked to be present for the session were Commissioner Kuehny, Mayor Arnold, and Casie Rosley, City Administrator.  Her motion was seconded by Mayor Arnold.  Executive Session concluded at 1:40 p.m.  No motions were made.

There being no other business, the meeting was adjourned at 1:40 p.m.
