Minutes of Meeting – August 2nd, 2017
The Caldwell City Commission met in regular session at the Caldwell Public Works Building on August 2nd, 2017 at 12:04 p.m. Mayor P. Mark Arnold presided. Commissioners present were Michelle Schiltz and Jill Kuehny. Casie Risley, City Administrator was present. Gene Garcia, Marshall was also present. Guests present were JD Good and Charles Pryor.
The 2018 Budget Hearing was opened at 12:04 p.m. There being no public comments or input, the hearing was closed at 12:05 p.m.
The regular meeting was then called to order at 12:06 p.m.
The minutes of the July 19th, 2017 Regular Meeting were read and approved with a motion from Commissioner Kuehny, and seconded by Commissioner Kuehny. Motion Carried.
It was noted that Jim Gauntt had filed an agenda request to speak his position on drones but was not present.
Mayor Arnold made a statement informing those present that there was not, and will not be plans for the Caldwell Police Department to purchase or employ a drone.
The July Municipal Court report was presented and discussed.
It was noted that the Splash Pad Campaign has received $3,200 to date. Thank you to all who have contributed!
An update was given on the Safe Routes to School project; the bid letting has been moved to December of 2017 from 2018.
A discussion was held regarding advertising agreements on City owned property. Surrounding cities will be polled on rates and restrictions.
A letter of support was signed regarding weight limits on transportation infrastructure.
Guests present but not on the agenda were invited to discuss their thoughts at this time; no comments were made.
Appropriation Ordinance 2128 was approved with a motion from Commissioner Schiltz and seconded by Commissioner Kuehny. Arnold – yes, Kuehny – yes, Schiltz – yes.
A reminder was given about the Sumner County Fair Parade entries.
There being no other business, the meeting was adjourned at 12:31 p.m.
