4th of July, Party in the Park

The 4th of July holiday is only a week away and the Caldwell Chamber of Commerce is planning to celebrate with a party in the park!   The fun will begin at the swimming pool and new splash pad Wednesday afternoon, July 4th with special pool activities throughout the afternoon.  Festivities at the park begin at 5:00 p.m. and will include several kids’ games and activities as well activities for all ages such as corn hole, basketball, horseshoe pitching,  homemade ice cream, free watermelon feed, concessions, prize drawings and more! A platform program will take place on the park stage beginning at 7:00 p.m. that will feature several acts of local talent and drawings for prizes.

4th of July buttons are on sale now at several local businesses.  Purchase of a button not only helps to support the celebration and fireworks but will also be your “ticket” for the activities and prize drawings.

The popular Medallion Search will be back this year taking on a whole new look!  All the clues will be released intermittently throughout the day of the celebration instead of spread out over the course of several days. The kids will also have their own “search” at the park.  The new Medallion Search rules and information can be found in today’s Messenger as well as posted on the Chamber’s website and facebook page.

The 4th of July celebration wouldn’t be complete without the giant community fireworks display.  Each year the Roop family has wowed the crowd with their outstanding pyrotechnics at the athletic field complex.   Everyone is invited to come on down to the football stands just before dark (or approximately 9:45 p.m.) for the best viewing of the awesome display.

Please note that NO outside fireworks will be allowed at the park or inside the fence of the athletic complex.  See you at the park for a fun and safe 4th of July!
